Test Data Profiles by Import File

Automate your software testing in ContextQA with test data profiles. This tutorial walks you through importing a test data profile using a file, so you can set up your test attributes quickly and accurately.

Start on the main dashboard inside ContextQA.

Go to the Test Development section from the sidebar menu.

Select the Test Data Profile tab.

Click the Import button in the top right.

The import feature lets you upload a file and instantly create a data profile from its contents.

Click Import.

You’ll see two template options to help format your data: one for Excel, one for JSON.

If you already have a file prepared, click Choose File, select your file, then set the profile Title.

Click Import to upload your file and generate the data profile.

You’ll get a summary showing how many rows succeeded and if any failed. Below, you’ll see your new test data profile with all attributes ready.

To check formatting, download the sample Excel template.

Open the file to review how your data should look for a smooth import experience.

You can also upload the sample template to try importing with a standard format. Click Choose File, pick the template, and add a title, such as Excel.

You can now view and edit your Excel-based test data profile as needed.

At any time, use the Import function to set up new or updated test data profiles for your testing workflows.
