How to Record a Test Case with the ContextQA Recorder

Recording test cases with ContextQA helps automate your testing process and ensures consistency. Follow these steps to set up your recorder, create your first test case, and capture your workflow seamlessly.

Click the plus (+) icon on the ContextQA dashboard.

Choose Start recording from the creation methods.

If prompted with a message like "ContextQA recorder did not detect it," you'll need to install the extension first.

Click Install Chrome extension.

In the Chrome Web Store, click Add to Chrome and confirm by selecting Add extension.

Once installed, return to the ContextQA dashboard.

Click the plus (+) icon again and select Start recording.

Enter your base URL. For this example, select the Orange HRM URL.

Click Create test case.

On the right, find the ContextQA extension panel. Now start capturing your steps—like entering the username and password.

Click Login to complete your test steps.

Your actions appear in plain English in the ContextQA extension. When you stop recording, you’re returned to the ContextQA screen, where you can view and run your new test case.
